Jerroms Staff  rallying support for the BRMB Walkathon which is raising money for a new unit at Selly Oak/QE for soldiers.

A team from Jerroms undertook the BRMB Walkathon on Sunday 6 June 2010.

Despite the weather forecast , it turned out to be  hot and humid for most of the day.  It was a gruelling 26 miles in all, and when the blisters, bleeding feet and aching legs kicked in at around the 16 mile mark, and then the heavens opened up at around 18 miles, the temptation to hop onto the No 11 bus was almost too much to bear.  However, knowing that our suffering paled into insignificance when compared to that endured by our wounded servicemen and women serving in Afghanistan and Iraq, for whom we were raising funds, humbled us and spurred us on to complete the full 26 miles.

We are, therefore, pleased to announce that we all managed to complete, as a team, the full 26 miles and would like to pass on our thanks and appreciation to you for sponsoring us in raising funds for our nominated charity ‘Help for Heroes’, and also allowing us to give a donation to the official BRMB walkathon charity, the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham towards their military rehabilitation centre.

We have yet to collect in our sponsorship money and are still totting up the figures, but current figures suggest we will have raised between £1100 - £1200 in total.

Without the support of people such as yourself, this would not be possible, so once again……………..
